Is Mold Dangerous?
Mold in the home can be anything from mildly irritating to extremely dangerous. It can be visibly growing around the kitchen sink, or hidden inside the walls and ceilings around the hot water heater.
Where and how it grows, however, does not change the fact that it is mold—and that it is unwelcome. Once the presence of mold is ascertained, killing it becomes the easy part.
Testing For Mold
Testing and searching for what is suspected to be mold in the home can be difficult. Tracking down the invisible plague is still absolutely necessary, though.

After the mold is found, it is time to destroy it.
The old wives’ tale of scrubbing the areas with bleach holds truth–a formula of one part bleach with no ammonia and eight parts water can be rubbed onto the mold spots.
Otherwise, chemicals of various strengths can be found in stores or online. Your local hardware store would be a good place to look for mold killing products.
Air Purifiers
It would also probably be a good idea to put an air cleaner in the infested area. Air cleaners are also known as air purifiers, ozone purifiers and de-humidifiers. They lessen the mold and mold spores in the air, as well as cut back the mildew, fungi, and even odor.

When mold is out of hand, though, it may be time to call in an expert. Houses can become so overtaken by mold that they are condemned.
