Do You Suffer from Mold Allergies?
Those who suffer from mold allergies, but don’t feel that involving a doctor is necessary, might take the time to find answers on their own!
4 Ways to Prevent a Mold Allergy Attack
There are many ways to prevent a mold allergy attack. Being aware of the mold inside the house and out and avoiding unclean, moldy areas could save a victim’s life–or at least their day.
- Catch Mold Before It Takes Over
- Watch the Mold & Pollen Count
- Use a De – Humidifier
- Keep Vehicle Windows Up
Catching mold before it has a chance to take over the home is vital. Mold sufferers should always be on the lookout for wet ceilings or tiles, as well as damp or wet areas around water pipes.
If wet or strangely colored spots are found, the problem should be fixed immediately! Mold could be growing underneath tiles, or in the walls or ceilings.
Watching the mold and pollen count in the area is also wise. This can be found on various weather websites, as well as the news channel.
On days with high mold counts or excessive wind or humidity, it is advisable to remain indoors as much as possible, keeping doors and windows closed to minimize the mold allowed into the house.
It would also be a good idea to use a de-humidifier. These wonderful inventions keep the air clean and help to regulate the humidity in the home.
They can be run constantly, or only on days when it is absolutely necessary. Also, an air purifier could do the trick. They help remove mold, as well as several types of bacteria.
Splurging for the more expensive furnace filter is probably worth the extra cost. This is especially true if the filter specifically says it helps prevent mold and pollen in the home. Not only will it last longer, the filter will also live up to expectations and limit the mold circulating throughout the house.
When traveling, even short trips to and from work or shopping, roll up the windows in the car. People who love the feel of the wind against their face may find this difficult to do.
It might help them to visualize mold particles slamming into their face and blocking breathing passages, or to remember the killer headache, stuffy nose and scratchy throat they always get.
Don’t Leave Mold Allergies Untreated
Mold allergies plague many people, and can worsen considerably if left untreated. Being aware of surroundings, taking action, and using caution and common sense can help prevent a mold allergy attack.
Watching out for discolored walls, ceilings and tiles, keeping track of the mold count in the area, and avoiding unhealthy situations are excellent steps toward a mold-free life.
