It appears that the EPA had started to develop a protocol and a test to use this protocol to test the performance of mold resistant products for construction and building materials.

It seems that the protocol for testing procedures were completed, but the actual testing has not been done yet (or released to the public). More information from the EPA can be found here: http://www.epa.gov/etv/este.html#mrbmgw

(Look under the heading "Microbial Resistant Building Materials")

It will be interesting to see what the EPA finds once the results are released.

Maybe a better solution as a gypsum board is a calcium silicate board, because it contains no cellulose, has a high alkality (that mold dislike). But it is even more expensive then an usual gypsum board. More information about calcium silicate board you will find here:

(in german language).

I've been testing this wallboard- getting it wet and introducing mold spores to it, wiping it off then getting it tested by a lab. so far its fail resistant.
