Most people don't realize mold has to be removed when it embeds itself in sheet rock. When the sheet rock is removed the mold will grow on the studs. The area must be sealed and negative air pressure should be used to extract the spores when they are loosened. I have found media blasting especially dry ice blasting to be an extremely effective extraction method.

Most people think you can spray bleach on mold and it will kill it. It really depends on what type of mold it is. You might want to call in a mold company that can have it tested. If it is determined that it need to be extracted by experts, then another call must be made. Remember the company that tests can't be the company that removes.. I have found extraction by a professional using media blasting works the best. Specifically dry ice blasting. Negative air pressure most be added for proper containment, but I think that's the best and most thorough method. http://www.steamaticofsal.com
