We hava rental apartment. There was a flood and it is highly likely that a significant amount of water went under a wood floor. The surface of the floor is slightly warped. Just the edges of the boards. In two isolated places there was an unpleasant smell, but the smell has largely gone away (after 3 weeks). There is no evidence of mold anywhere. Sheetrock behind baseboards are totally dry, indeed no evidence of wetness. Question is, should we worry about latent mold beneath floor? Floor contractors have told us we should rip everything out even though the floor is aesthetically fine. Marked as spam

I think it would be wise to have it checked by a professional to make sure it is all dried and there is no mold left. If wet building material is not dried thoroughly immediately after water damage, mold will grow very quickly… in as little as 24 hours.
