I have been in the restaurant industry for over 35 yrs. My dream has always been to have my own place. Finally I get the opportunity to purchase a small burger and fry place with a beautiful view of the lake and a great location. My plan was to do a remodel and open as a breakfast/lunch restaurant. Making the deal happen took close to 6 months, but at last it was finally mine. The building itself has been made into 4 suites, 2 restaurants, a fudge shop and an investment banker. The landlords have owned the building for the past 7 yrs keeping all the same tenants as when they purchased it . I knew the burger place was dirty and needed a lot of love and attention which I had no problem doing. I was going to make it my own. Owning only 9 days, and spending countless hours prepping the walls for painting, I came across “BLACK MOLD”. IT HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE SINCE….
