I have a garage that shares walls with other garages in an HOA. I bought the home and unbeknownst to me, there is a ground water intrusion issue. The far wall is made of concrete and when it rains, water cascades down the concrete and pools in garage. The adjacent walls are made of wood studs and drywall. Mold is present in bottom 6 inches of drywall and vertically where drywall meets the concrete wall. Due to the expense involved in fixing the water problem, the HOA is doing nothing to stop the ground water intrusion from the homes above the garage. What can I do to get rid of the mold? I’ve thought about coating the mold and tiling over, or laying thin bricks over the drywall, or removing the drywall and just leaving the studs… What’s the best way to be rid of the mold when the water cannot be stopped?
