Hello. We just bought a home and in three weeks there was mold all around half the basement walls up to 2 foot up the walls!  The disclosure says “No” under the questions about wetness in the basement. The inspector didn’t catch any problems with it down there and the loan inspector didn’t catch it either.

When I called the realtor to take him up on the “give me a call if you guys need any help” he came over and told me what to fix and said to go to diy websites…”your a smart guy , you can do it”. Well had a wet basement company in today. $17000 and I have to rip out all the outside walls as well as a finished bathroom.

And to make this even more horrible I have been having splitting headaches and fatigue, sinus problem and nausea.  So I’m going to have to make myself sicker trying to get out the moldy stuff so that the rest of my family doesn’t get sick!

I can’t seem to get any help. Everyone wants money to help. My wife supports us because I’m on disability , so we are between a rock and a hard place. It’s a shame you can get help for a lemon car but buy a much more expensive house and it seems like no one can help, or won’t help unless it gets them money! There should be legal penalties for lying on disclosures.
