My family and I have been renting a “luxury” apartment for 4 years now. A little over a year ago we noticed a fair amount of mold starting to show up on our vents. We have all had respiratory problems problems since moving into the property but thought nothing of it until recently when my wife’s hair began falling out. We notified the apartment of our mold problem and after blaming us for keeping the apartment too cold they decided to paint over the mold. When we found out we notified them once more so they sent a “cleaning team” in that ended up just cutting a bit of drywall around the edge of the vents. A year later and the mold is still there and the apartment refuses to get it tested or perform anymore cleanup.
